
Misan Miso Samara
Dancer, Actress, Choreographer | Born in the city of Tira, Occupied Palestine, 1997.
Debuted on stage at age 4 and has pursued an education in dance and theater ever since. At 18, she moved to New York City to train at the Broadway Dance Center and later to Los Angeles at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. She learned from and worked with renowned artists like Maleek Washington, Amy Gardner, Matthew Michael Carnahan, and more.
In 2020 she returned to her homeland, confronting and exploring the existence of oneself by crisscrossing the lines of colonial occupation and society to tell stories of a constant battle of resistance and resilience through researching images of liberation and building a world of creativity in motion. She danced with the SDC Dancing Outside ensemble, was voted “Best Performer Award” for her interpretation of a solo by Nur Garabli.
As a choreographer, she created the solo “Eleutheromania,” the duet “AlQarib,” and with a special invitation from Claire Verlet, the trio “Bilsan.” Her works have premiered and toured on stages locally & internationally, from Théâtre de la Ville in Paris to the Solo Tanz Theater competition in Stuttgart, Tanzstation Wuppertal, various dance festivals in Occupied Palestine, including Al Saraya Arab Theater in Yafa, the International Exposure, Tira Masaha, and Nazareth. Misan Miso is an artistic collaborator in “CHÉ,” and “ARABESQUA” Choreographed by Garabli, an instructor at Al Amal Dance School & Company, and an actress with the Fringe Theater Ensemble in Nazareth.
